Miniature Wildlife - Conceptual Sculpture

About

MiNature.org.uk is about being sympathetic to the natural environment by using cruelty free and recycled materials to create realistic miniature animal sculpture that are one of a kind.

My introduction into art came through my father and grandfather who were landscape and portrait painters from the Czech Republic.

Besides painting, bird forms were the first things that I began to sculpt using air dry clay. Later I switched to using polymer clays because of its ability to hold fine detail.

Since 2000 I have taught classes on painting techniques, sculpting miniature animals, had my work featured in dolls house magazines and sold numerous custom made sculptures to dolls house enthusiasts, miniature collectors and bird lovers worldwide.

In 2018 after much trial and error, I modify my own paper clays for sculpting in miniature. Using different types of fibrework (a term I adapted from Victorian hairwork) techniques, these are used to replicate fur and feathers which adds to the realistic appearance of the sculptures.

Today I live in Manchester UK, work as a freelance artist and research local history for my own art projects.
