About
MiNature.org.uk is about being sympathetic to the natural environment by using cruelty-free and recycled materials to create miniature animal sculptures that are one of a kind.
My introduction to art came through my father and grandfather, who were landscape and portrait painters from the Czech Republic.
Besides painting, bird forms were the first things that I began to sculpt using air-dry clay, later, I switched to polymer clays because of its ability to hold fine detail.
I began experimenting with plant and synthetic yarn and naturally moulted feathers to create realistic fur and feather plumage for my sculptures. This is done by using various different flocking and Victorian hairwork techniques that I call fibrework.
Since 2000, I have taught workshops on miniature sculpture and painting techniques and my work has been featured in several miniature magazines. In 2018 I began modifying my own air dry clays for my work, and continue to make miniature animals for collectors and bird lovers worldwide.
Today I live in Manchester, UK, working as a freelance artist and researching local history on abandoned buildings that have been reclaimed by nature for my own miniature wildlife projects.
