About
MiNature.org.uk is about being sympathetic to wildlife and the natural environment by using cruelty free and recyclable materials to create realistic miniature artworks that are one of a kind.
I started out my creative path being taught about colour theory and how to mix pigments from scratch by my father and grandfather who were landscape and portrait painters from the Czech Republic.
Besides painting, bird forms were the first things that I began sculpting as a child using air dry clay. Later I switched to using polymer clays for making sculptures because of its ability to hold better detail in miniature.
Since 2000 I have taught classes on making miniature animals, had my work featured in dolls house magazines and sold numerous custom made sculptures to miniature collectors, dolls house enthusiasts and bird lovers worldwide.
In 2018 after much trial and error, I started making miniatures from my own paper clays that are modified for sculpting in miniature detail. Using different types of fibrework (a term I adapted from Victorian hairwork) techniques to replicate fur and feathers adds to the realistic appearance of the sculptures.
Today I live in Manchester UK, work as a freelance artist and research local history for my own art projects.
